The Teeth Tech that Will Transform your Smile for Summer....

Looking after your teeth and having great oral hygiene is obviously really important - no one wants bad breath, gum disease or fillings, do they?? SO what do you do? Chew gum between meals, brush your teeth twice a day and floss (when you remember!) - but there is actually so much more you can do, and in the process, get yourself a pearly white smile for Summer in the process...

Like most areas of our lives, tech is helping us out with our teeth, too. Apparently we apply too much pressure when using a manual toothbrush without realising, causing sore gums which an lead to other problems... but the main issue with your fave old toothbrush is that it just doesn't clean your pegs that well!

Which is where electric toothbrushes come in - and there are real benefit to investing in one of these beauts. Apparently, a massive 90% of us use the wrong technique to brush our teeth, so the vast majority of us could do with a litle help. We don’t always hit every tooth or brush long enough. Apparently, when you brush by hand, you make about 300 strokes per minute. Electric brushes rotate 3,000 to 7,500 times a minute, while sonic brushes make 30,000 to 40,000 strokes per minute. So yeah - they're better!

We're obsessed with the Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean (above), which has a setting for every oral hygiene need! If you want a deep clean, have sensitive teeth or just want to whiten those gnashers, this gadget can deal with it. After using it for just a week we saw a massive difference in the whiteness of our teeth - and they feel amazing too. Plus the design is super chic and the brush charges while in the glass cup it comes with - how cool?

But hi-tech tooth care doesn't have to just be electric y'know - there are also wonder products that can make a real difference. We're currently obsessed with this mouthwash - UltraDEX Recalcifying & Whitening Daily Oral Rinse, £7.50 is the best finishing touch to brushing your teeth - just swish around your mouth for 30 seconds and your breath will feel fresher, it will remove lingering food particles and also helps to gradually whiten your teeth... result!

Another toothbrush we loved was the Panasonic Ionic toothbrush - also rechargeable, it comes with a triple edged brush for total oral care, and even a tongue cleaner for removing bad breath causing debris  (don't ever forget to brush your tongue - it makes a big difference!), plus it's on offer at Boots at the moment, meaning you can get it for a great price.

There's a bit of a dentist LOLs, where they say 'only floss between the teeth you'd like to keep' - but actually, there's a bit of truth to their little joke. Buildup of plaque between the teeth could result in gum disease and/or expensive and painful dentist appointments, which could all be avoided if you remember to floss daily. But normal dental floss seems totally boring compared to this little gadget... if you REALLY feel like splashing out on your teeth, we recommend you try the Philips Airfloss Pro.

Unique technology combines air and mouth rinse or water to powerfully yet gently clean between teeth and along the gum line - which is great for those who don't floss consistently! it can be used with mouthwash or water and is clinically proven to be as effective as floss for gum health, with benefits showing within a fortnight. Sure, it's an initial outlay but we reckon you'll never forget to floss again!
