Benefit Erase Paste, £18.50

Benefit,Concealer Benefit erase paste

There isn\'t a woman on earth (well, maybe Elle Macpherson) who wakes up with blemish-free skin which is why we all need a little help from time to time from a concealer. Whether you need to hide the fact that you\'ve had one too many late nights or want to camouflage a spot we\'ve tested the best concealers going...

We loved this paste from Benefit which has a step by step guide in the box to ensure you apply it correctly and get the best results. Using the spatula can be a bit tricky so you might want to use a clean finger instead but, once you do master the art of getting it out of the packet this thick paste covers up spots perfectly and it also smells great! 8/10

YSL Multi-Action Concealer, £18

YSL,Concealer ysl multi action concealer

Packaged in a slick-gold tube, this concealer certainly looks pretty despite its mundane job. For individual spots, it didn\'t quite do the trick but it goes on a dream over dark under eye circles and general redness. The consistency is light and creamy but slightly greasy and the results were natural looking and not cakey, even after touch-ups. 7/10

L\'Oreal Infallible Concealer, £5.49

L\'Oreal,Concealer loreal infallible concealer

Soft and easily blendable, L\'Oreal infallible concealer almost erases dark circles and red spots without being too obvious and lasts all day long too. Although not suited to evening out patches of redness it hid all embarrassing pimples big or small 9/10

Clinique Airbrush Concealer, £15

Clinique,Concealer clinique airbrush concealer

I was a bit too click happy with this, I couldn’t get the flow right at all so always ended up with too much. Having said that it went on really easily, was easy to blend and my dark eye circles disappeared instantly. It has great staying power too and I would be quite happy going straight from work to the bar without reapplying. 9/10

Bobbi Brown Creamy Concealer, £15

Concealer,Bobbi Brown bobbi brown creamy concealer

Usually a fan of Benefit Bo-ing, I was a little dubious about trying Creamy Concealer.  Bobbi Brown have created a light and creamy product with great coverage.  It feels a little rich and heavy when you apply it to your skin, but feels as though you are wearing nothing at all, and stays put all day. 8/10

17 Hideaway Concealer Stick, £2.29

Concealer,17 17 hideaway concealer stick

This one is good enough for hiding those dark circles and acne scars but not great for anything too red. The consistency is a bit dry and requires quite a bit of blending, but, hey, it\'s cheap and cheerful and although it\'s not perfect for spots, it\'s great under the eyes after a big night 6.5/10

MAC Select Moisture Cover, £23

Concealer,MAC mac select moisture cover

This was a great concealer - well matched to my skin tone and it blended with my foundation really easily. I\'ve never used a MAC concealer before, but I\'m a convert now! I would definitely consider switching to this! The texture was quite light so it didn\'t feel like it was clogging my skin - and it provided lasting coverage. 8/10

Dior Skinflash Radiance Booster Pen, £21

Concealer,Dior dior skinflash radiance booster pen

They don\'t call it skinflash for nothin\'.  Dior\'s professional make-up concealer pen can literally overhaul your face in a flash.  The pen, or should we say wand, works like magic to reduce dark circles and skin shadows.  Use it under or over make-up, it is particularly handy for re-touching your face throughout the day, and feel confident that any imperfections are well and truly hidden. 9/10

Collection 2000 Illuminating Touch Concealer, £4.99

Concealer,Collection 2000 collection 2000 illuminating touch concealer pen

This nifty little pen is obviously inspired by some of the bigger brands\' versions and for a cheap and cheerful option, it does the job. It lifted and brightened the dark circles under my eyes and did wonders for my brow bone. That said, this is not really a concealer, so go for something with a bit more coverage on those pesky spots... 7.5/10

Rimmel Recover Anti-fatigue concealer, £4.99

Rimmel,Concealer rimmel recover antifatigue concealer

This Rimmel concealer tended to be on the thicker side of things, but considering that it\'s designed to make you look as fresh as a daisy on little to no sleep, I\'m not going to argue. Once on it did last well and had a nice iridescent shine that brightened my tired looking eyes - it had been a late night! 7.5/10
