Oooh... The Music Rich List is Here!

It's that time of the year again, when we all look on with envy at just how much our favourite bands and artists have in their savings! Sir Paul McCartney continues to be the UK and Ireland's richest musician after adding £20 million to his wealth over the past 12 months. The Beatle leads the 27th annual Sunday Times Rich List of musicians with a combined wealth of £730m alongside his wife Nancy Shevell.

Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber remains in second place with an estimated fortune of £650m, while Irish band U2 are thought to be worth £431m. Sir Elton John is in fourth position with a wealth thought to amass £270m, and Sir Mick Jagger is at five with a fortune of £225m.

Staggeringly, there are very few female musicians among Britain and Ireland's most richest, with Enya placing highest at 25 with a fortune of £90m. Due to her British citizenship, Kylie Minogue is the only other female performer on the list at 37 with an estimated worth of £55m.

Calvin Harris is the only new entry on this year's list landing at 30 with a fortune of £70m.

Meanwhile, Adele has been named the UK and Ireland's richest musician under 30, after adding £5m to her wealth in the past 12 months. It means the singer-songwriter tops the list with a hefty fortune of £50m, ahead of One Direction stars Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, who have £25m each.

Former One Direction star Zayn Malik is also in joint second place with £25m, while Ed Sheeran is just behind with an estimated wealth of £20m.

Ellie Goulding, Jessie J, Leona Lewis, Katie Melua, Marcus Mumford and Carey Mulligan's combined worth, and Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner are all joint eighth place with £13m each.

Sam Smith is the only new entry on the under 30 list, landing at 14 with an estimated fortune of £12m.
