What Shoes Should You Wear With Flares?

They’re the jeans style of the season, they’re super flattering, look great with loads of different top choices and styles, yet when it comes to shoes, flares kinda veer into the ‘tricky trend’ category. However with our guide, you’ll be wearing flares carefree all summer long…

In case you haven’t heard, the 70’s are back in a BIG way. So why not adopt the trend 100% and team these retro jeans with some proper retro shoes. We’re opting for tanned, stacked heel sandals which are cool, current and surprisingly easy to walk in (OK, easier than courts at least), but wedges are also A-OK if stack heels leave you thinking “I’m going to stack it…” (Shoes pictured: Dune tan platform sandal, £79)

Oh, the trusty ankle boot, the suits-all, aesthetically pleasing shoe style that magically seems to go with pretty much anything, in any season and easily adds cool points to your outfit. Unsurprisingly, they also go well with flares. (Shoes pictured: Free People Frontier Boot, £168)

The ultimate nonchalant 70’s – casj look. Who cares about the ‘perfect’ flared silhouette when you can look like an Alexa Chung x Farrah Fawcett hybrid. We love the slinky trainer goodness from Adidas Gazelle’s and Converse Chuck Taylor All Star’s. (Shoes pictured: Adidas Gazelle Indoor's, £66.99)
