Channel 4 Has Launched A New "X" Campaign To Get YOU To Vote!

With the general election just four weeks away, Channel 4 has launched their "X" campaign today in the hope of boosting voter turnout for 18-25 year olds.

In the 2010 general election, just 4 in 10 of under 25s voted, and with what is set to be the closest election in decades, turning up and casting an X on your ballot paper this year, could ACTUALLY decide the outcome of the election.

The X in the "X" campaign refers to "’X’ marks the spot where young people’s power resides and we’re encouraging them not to throw it away." says Adam Gee, Commissioning Editor, Channel 4 Multiplatform & Online Video.

And to kick start their campaign, Channel 4 have released THIS video:

"‘Why give a XXXX?’ staring actor Steve Brody (Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, The Office, Cardinal Burns, PhoneShop) which hopes to show you just how much the UK is missing a voice from young people.

Host of the BBC three show Free Speech, and broadcaster Rick Edwards has also shown his support, explaining that, “Even if you think you’re not massively into politics, it affects every aspect of your life and voting is how you make politicians sit up and listen. Like suited meerkats.”

There are just 10 days left to register to vote, and just under a month left before the big day, so visit the X campaign website NOW to learn more about the campaign and more importantly WHY your vote matters!
